India weather alert: Heavy rain and storms forecast for multiple states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for several Indian states, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds across various regions.

Multiple states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, are expected to experience rain and high-speed winds that could reach between 70 and 80 kilometers per hour. There is also a risk of lightning strikes and hail, which may impact agricultural crops and pose risks to public safety.

In northern mountainous regions such as Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, snowfall has been predicted. These conditions bring risks of landslides in hilly areas. While some regions face heavy precipitation, weather patterns in Delhi are expected to vary, with forecasts ranging from moderate rain and wind to clearer, drier skies depending on the specific date in the forecast period.
