India weather alert: Heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for Uttar Pradesh and Delhi

A western disturbance is causing significant weather changes across several Indian states. In Uttar Pradesh, heavy to moderate rainfall is expected in districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Raebareli, Ayodhya, and Unnao. The meteorological department has issued alerts for thunderstorms, lightning, and potential hailstorms in areas such as Hardoi, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri. Wind speeds in western Uttar Pradesh may reach up to 60 km/h, and temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days.

In Delhi, cloudy skies and light rain are forecasted with winds reaching 30 km/h. Uttarakhand is under a yellow alert for heavy rain and lightning in nine districts, including Dehradun and Nainital, while high-altitude areas are experiencing snowfall. Additionally, heavy rainfall is predicted for parts of Tamil Nadu and various other states including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
