North India weather shifts with rising pollution and seasonal temperature changes
Weather patterns across North India are shifting as seasonal changes bring temperature fluctuations and rising pollution levels. In Delhi, air quality has deteriorated, with the Central Pollution Control Board reporting AQI levels reaching the ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ categories, including readings of 304 in Punjabi Bagh and 318 at IITM Pusa.
Temperature variations are becoming more pronounced, with warm, sunny days and cooler nights. In Uttar Pradesh, the weather remains dry with daytime temperatures around 30 to 31 degrees Celsius, while Bihar is experiencing the onset of mild winter conditions. In Prayagraj, the AQI has reached 158, prompting health concerns for sensitive groups such as children and the elderly.
In southern states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, the Meteorological Department has issued alerts for rain and wind. Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, weather alerts for thunderstorms and rain have been issued for 25 districts across six divisions, including Bhopal and Indore, potentially impacting Dussehra festival celebrations.
