Sheetal Devi leads India to 15 medals at World Archery Para Series

India achieved a significant medal haul at the World Archery Para Series 2026 Stage III in Ahmedabad, securing a total of 15 medals, including four golds, three silvers, and eight bronzes.

World No. 1 Sheetal Devi led the Indian contingent by winning the gold medal in the women’s compound individual event. After a 144-144 tie with Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan, Devi secured the victory in a shoot-off by scoring a 10 to Seidan’s 9. Devi also set a new world record in the compound mixed team qualification alongside Rakesh Kumar, scoring 1,400 points, and later earned a bronze medal in the mixed team event with Toman Kumar.

In the para recurve category, Harvinder Singh and Bhawna Choudhary claimed gold in the mixed team event after a 6-0 victory over China. Bhawna also secured an individual bronze in the women’s recurve category. Other bronze medalists for India included Sarita in the women’s compound, Toman Kumar in the men’s compound, and Swati Chaudhary in the W1 women’s event.
