India Women clinch T20I series against Zimbabwe with dominant wins

The India Women's cricket team has secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe following a dominant nine-wicket victory in the second match at Raipur.

In the second T20I, Zimbabwe was restricted to 102/8 in their 20 overs, with Niki Prasad claiming 2/7. India chased the target in just 8.5 overs, fueled by an aggressive opening partnership between Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. Verma scored 55 runs off 25 balls, setting a world record for the most 50-plus scores in a single calendar year in women's T20Is. Mandhana remained unbeaten on 47.

This follows the first T20I of the series, where India won by four wickets. In that match, the team faced an early collapse at 19/4 before Deepti Sharma (49) and debutant Niki Prasad (39*) shared an 82-run partnership to secure the win. The series victory marks a successful start to Smriti Mandhana's tenure as India's full-time all-format captain.
