India youth protests grow as Cockroach Janta Party targets officials

India is experiencing a wave of youth-led protests characterized by the use of satire and the symbol of the cockroach. The Cockroach Janta Party has emerged as a prominent force in these demonstrations, which focus on issues such as botched recruitment tests, delayed appointments, and a difficult job market.

These protests follow the recent resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The movement is now targeting Bar Council of India (BCI) chairman Manan Mishra, seeking his resignation following a controversy involving NALSAR.

With nearly 750 million people in India under the age of 30, the movement reflects a growing demand for institutional accountability and economic opportunity among a massive demographic that feels its aspirations are not being met by current systems.
