Indian Air Force Chief discusses security and fighter jet acquisitions
Indian Air Force Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, addressed national security and aerospace power during the 22nd Subroto Mukerjee International Seminar in New Delhi. The event focused on India’s security environment, technological advancements, and the challenges of a multipolar world.
On the sidelines of the Tarang Shakti 2026 multinational air exercise in Jodhpur, Singh also commented on potential fighter jet acquisitions. While clarifying that the United States has made no official offer to sell F-35 stealth fighter jets to India, he made a humorous remark regarding the restricted access Indian officials have to the aircraft.
Additionally, Singh addressed reports of an offer from Russia regarding the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter. He stated that no decision has been made yet on whether the aircraft will be evaluated, noting that the Indian Air Force will proceed once instructed by the government.
