Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth visits Nepal to strengthen defense ties

Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth is conducting a three-day official visit to Nepal from August 17 to 19 to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation and military ties. During the visit, President Ram Chandra Paudel conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army upon General Seth, maintaining a longstanding tradition of reciprocal honorary ranks between the two nations' army chiefs.

General Seth held a high-level meeting with Nepal’s Prime Minister and Defense Minister Balendra Shah to discuss mutual interests and ways to enhance military relations. He also met with Nepali Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel to discuss cooperation and security matters.

As part of his itinerary, General Seth inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Nepali Army Headquarters, visited the Army Command and Staff College in Shivapuri to interact with student officers, and is scheduled to attend an Ex-Servicemen Rally in Pokhara to meet with veterans and gallantry awardees.
