Indian Congress launches nationwide campaign over NEET exam flaws

Congress leader Gaurav Gogooi accused the centre of failing to answer public concerns about alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). He claimed the government has not been accountable for paper leaks and delays that have jeopardised students’ futures.

The party inaugurated a 40‑day, 28‑city “Students’ Echo” (छात्रों की गूंज) campaign in Ahmedabad, demanding a transparent inquiry into the leaks, the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and swift resolution of pending recruitments. The campaign highlighted that over the past decade 89 leak cases have affected about 6.5 million candidates, leading to the re‑conduct of 48 exams and cancellation of 22.

Congress also paid tribute to Kanhai Patel, who allegedly committed suicide after the NEET controversy, and warned that repeated exam scandals erode public trust in the examination system.
