Indian education departments implement changes to teacher eligibility exams

The Basic Education Department has issued new directives regarding the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET). Teachers who have already passed the TET or CTET are not required to retake the Special TET. However, those who have not yet completed the Special TET must apply for the examination following the prescribed procedures.

In Madhya Pradesh, the School Education Department is shifting the responsibility for conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to the Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE). Moving away from the previous online format, the exam will now be conducted offline, similar to the 10th and 12th-grade board examinations. This change aims to increase transparency and mitigate technical issues and disputes that have previously affected the online testing process.
