India hotel industry sees surge in wedding bookings

The Indian hotel industry is experiencing a surge in demand for wedding celebrations ahead of the winter season. Major properties are reporting double-digit growth in their wedding business, with many key dates in November and February already nearing full capacity.

Roop Partap Choudhary, Executive Director of Noor Mahal Delhi NCR Karnal (an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott International), reported a 15 per cent increase in wedding business compared to last year. Notably, the booking window is widening, with substantial business already confirmed for 2027. Choudhary observed that families are opting for longer, more personalized celebrations, with weddings accounting for approximately 60 per cent of the property’s total business.

This trend of early booking is also evident at Roseate Hotels & Resorts. CEO Kush Kapoor stated that their Delhi resort is seeing extremely strong demand, noting that the entire month of November is almost fully booked and most dates in February are already reserved.
