Indian IPO market hits record 94,205 crore rupees in H1 FY2026-27

Indian companies raised a record 94,205 crore rupees through mainboard Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) during the first half of the 2026-27 fiscal year (April-September). According to a report by Prime Database, 78 companies entered the market, marking a 35 percent increase compared to the 69,533 crore rupees raised by 65 companies during the same period last year.

The fundraising surge was driven by major listings, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE), which raised 22,563 crore rupees. Other significant contributors included SBI Funds Management, which raised 9,795 crore rupees, and Manipal Health Enterprises, which raised 9,275 crore rupees. Total public equity fundraising, which includes SME IPOs and other investment trusts, reached an all-time high of 2.43 lakh crore rupees, a 75 percent increase.

Despite a slow start in the first three months where only 3,794 crore rupees were raised, the market saw a massive rebound in August and September. The report also notes high retail investor enthusiasm, with 42 out of 64 IPOs being subscribed more than 10 times.
