Indian Leaders Honor Kargil Hero Captain Vikram Batra on Sacrifice Day
On July 7, India marked the sacrifice day of Captain Vikram Batra, the late Kargil war hero and recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. Chief ministers and senior politicians across several states posted tributes on social media, lauding his courage and dedication.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “When the nation talks of bravery and duty, the name of Captain Vikram Batra will be remembered with pride.” Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described him as an “eternal martyr whose supreme sacrifice inspires every Indian.” Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also offered heartfelt acknowledgments, emphasizing his role as a symbol of patriotism and duty.
The collective statements highlighted Batra’s legacy as a rallying point for national service and highlighted the continued reverence for Kargil veterans across the country.
