A senior delegation from India’s National Defence College (NDC) conducted a Strategic Neighbourhood Study Tour in Oman from August 30 to September 3. Led by Air Vice Marshal Manish Vasantkumar Patel VM, the delegation engaged in high-level interactions with various Omani authorities and institutions in Muscat.

Key engagements included discussions with the Majlis A’Dawla and Majlis A’Shura, as well as meetings with representatives of the Oman Council. The delegation met with Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, to discuss mutual security interests and bilateral defence cooperation. They also conferred with Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC Oman, regarding military training and academic partnerships.

Additional meetings were held with the Diplomatic Academy of Oman and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. The visit concluded with a briefing on the Shabab Oman II vessel, highlighting its cultural and diplomatic roles.
