Indian National Defence College strategic study tour

Overview

A delegation from India’s National Defence College (NDC) is conducting a Strategic Neighbourhood Study Tour across several countries to discuss regional security and bilateral defence cooperation.

In late August and early September 2026, the delegation visited Bangladesh and the Maldives. In Bangladesh, the group met with the Indian High Commissioner and senior civil and military officials. In the Maldives, the delegation held consultations with the Maldives National Defence Force leadership and the Minister of Defence and National Service.

Simultaneously, a senior delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Manish Vasantkumar Patel VM conducted a tour in Oman from August 30 to September 3. This visit included high-level engagements with the Majlis A’Dawla, the Majlis A’Shura, and the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces to address mutual security interests, military training, and academic partnerships.
