Indian Naval Ship INS Sudarshini Arrives in Boston for Sail 250 Celebration
The Indian Navy’s INS Sudarshini entered Boston Harbor on 12 July 2026, sailing under the Indian tricolour as part of the international Sail Boston 250 programme. Consul General of India in Boston, Raghuram S, boarded the vessel at sea to observe its participation in the Parade of Sails and to report on the concurrent LOKAYAN 2026 exhibition.
The event marks the United States’ Semiquincentennial and the 250th anniversary of the Sail 250 fleet, bringing together tall ships and military vessels from around the world. Organisers anticipate more than four million visitors in Boston between 11 July and 16 July, with the city serving as the final stop after New York’s Independence Day celebrations.
