Indian Navy ships finish Thailand port call, continue Southeast Asia deployment

Three Indian Navy Eastern Fleet vessels — INS Udaygiri, INS Kavaratti and INS Shakti — concluded a port call in Sattahip, Thailand on 29 June 2026 and departed for further operations in the Southeast Asian region. The deployment, led by Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, was aimed at deepening maritime cooperation with Thailand, enhancing interoperability and addressing shared security challenges.

During the visit senior officials from both navies held discussions on expanding bilateral naval ties and hosted a reception attended by the Indian ambassador, Thai naval officers, diplomats and members of the Indian diaspora. The Indian Ministry of Defence said the mission supports the MAHASAGAR vision of a collaborative maritime order and underscores India’s commitment to regional partnership and collective security across Southeast Asia.
