Indian Navy visits Thailand and US to strengthen maritime ties

On June 27, three Indian Eastern Fleet ships – Udaygiri, Kavaratti and Shakti – arrived at the Royal Thai Navy base in Sattahip, Thailand. Led by Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, the vessels participated in professional exchanges, cross‑deck visits and community outreach to deepen navy‑to‑navy cooperation and showcase India’s indigenous naval capabilities.

The same day, the Indian Navy’s sail‑training ship INS Sudarshini docked in Baltimore, Maryland, after a trans‑oceanic voyage that included a stop in Norfolk, Virginia. The ship joined celebrations marking the United States’ 250th anniversary, conducting maritime engagement activities and highlighting the long‑standing friendship between the Indian and U.S. navies.

Both deployments underscore India’s effort to expand maritime partnerships across Southeast Asia and North America, reinforcing bilateral ties through naval outreach and joint events.
