Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi receives Indonesia's highest civilian award

Indonesia conferred its top civilian honour, the Bintang Adipurna, on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his state visit to Jakarta. The award, presented by President Prabowo Subianto, marked Modi's 35th international civilian decoration and added Indonesia to a list of Muslim‑majority nations that have honoured him.

The ceremony coincided with the deepening of the India‑Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Negotiations produced agreements on trade, technology and defence, including Indonesia’s purchase of Indian Astra and BrahMos missiles and India’s commitment to supply customised electronic voting machines. The visit underscores growing bilateral cooperation in maritime security, connectivity and regional forums.
