Indian Railway Recruitment Board launches 2025 NTPC hiring drive and 2026 Group D exam special trains
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) announced a large-scale recruitment drive for Non‑Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts in 2025, offering approximately 8,875 vacancies across India. Positions include graduate and 12th‑pass roles such as Station Master, Goods Guard, Commercial Clerk and Senior Time Keeper. Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree for graduate posts or a Class 12 pass for other posts, with age limits of 18‑33 years. The notification is expected in October 2025, applications close on 20 November 2025, and the first computer‑based test (CBT‑1) is slated for early 2026.
Separately, the RRB arranged special railway services for the Group D Level‑1 CBT exam scheduled for August 2026. Two pairs of trains will run between Danapur and Purnia Court, providing 20‑coach services to transport the hundreds of thousands of candidates to and from the exam locations.
