Indian Railways Announces 10,875 New Apprentice and Engineer Jobs for 2026

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has opened online applications for 6,777 apprentice positions across trades such as fitter, welder, electrician, plumber, carpenter, machinist and others. Applicants must have at least 50% in Class 10, relevant ITI certificates, be aged 15‑24 (with age relaxations for SC/ST/OBC and persons with disabilities) and submit the form by 19 August 2026.

Separately, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) issued a short notice for hiring 4,098 junior engineers, depot material superintendents and chemical‑metallurgical assistants. The online window runs from 14 August to 13 September 2026. Eligible candidates should be 18‑33 years old, hold a diploma or degree in the relevant engineering branch, and will be appointed on the 7th Pay Commission’s salary scale with an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month.
