Indian Railways announces large-scale recruitment drives
Indian railway entities have announced significant recruitment opportunities. Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has issued an official notification for 134 apprentice trainee positions under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).
The KRCL vacancies include various engineering roles in civil, electrical, electronics, and mechanical disciplines, as well as general stream graduate positions. Candidates will be selected based on document verification, physical fitness, and a merit list. Stipends are set at ₹6,150 per month for graduate apprentices and ₹5,450 for technician (diploma) apprentices. Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
Separately, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is preparing for a large-scale recruitment drive for approximately 30,000 Group D (Level-1) posts. An official notification is expected between September and October 2026, with online applications potentially starting by December 2026. This recruitment targets candidates with 10th-grade qualifications or ITI degrees for roles such as track maintainers, pointsmen, and assistants in signaling, telecom, and loco sheds.
