Indiana collegiate teams secure multiple athletic victories

Several Indiana-based collegiate teams secured victories in recent athletic competitions.

In volleyball, the IU Indy Jaguars defeated Ohio 3-0 in their home opener with set scores of 26-24, 25-21, and 25-22. Jillian Tippmann led the Jaguars with 13 kills. Meanwhile, Butler University's volleyball team swept the Youngstown State Penguins 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-21), improving their season record to 3-1. Ellise Ward and Jersey Loyer were key contributors for the Bulldogs.

In men's soccer, the IU Indianapolis Jaguars earned a 1-0 shutout victory against Southern Indiana. Jose Antonio Herrera scored the decisive goal via a penalty kick in the 30th minute. The win marks the program's best start since 2006 and extends the team's scoreless defensive streak to 337 minutes.
