Indiana Governor announces flood recovery sites and gas tax extensions

Indiana Governor Mike Braun has announced several relief measures for residents of the state. To assist those affected by historic flooding in August, new “one-stop shop” recovery sites will open in Hamilton and LaPorte counties. These locations will provide access to federal, state, and local resources, including FEMA individual assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans, housing support, and mental health referrals. To date, more than 5,000 storm victims have utilized state recovery sites.

Additionally, Governor Braun has renewed Indiana’s statewide energy emergency, extending the suspension of the state’s Gasoline Use Tax and Gasoline Excise Tax through November 4. This measure aims to mitigate the impact of high fuel prices caused by global oil supply disruptions. The Governor also announced the suspension of special fuel restrictions for dyed diesel, allowing farmers to use it for all farm-related activities to ease economic burdens on the agricultural community.
