India's 8th Pay Commission Schedules Delhi Stakeholder Meetings

The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) has set two stakeholder meetings in Delhi for August 7 and August 10, 2026, to gather feedback from employee unions and pensioner groups on salary structures, allowances, pensions and service conditions.

Data collection through the commission’s online portal closed on July 31, 2026, after an extended deadline. The panel will also hold consultations in Chennai, Puducherry and Chandigarh during August and September 2026. Its final report, containing recommendations that will affect more than 1 crore people—including roughly 5 million central government employees, 6.5 million pensioners and defence and railway personnel—is expected between February and April 2027.
