India's Ambassador visits Hunedoara to discuss economic cooperation
The Ambassador of India to Romania, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, met with officials in Hunedoara County, including County Council President Laurențiu Nistor and Prefect Széll Lőrincz. The discussions focused on developing economic and institutional relations between Hunedoara and Indian partners, specifically targeting the expansion of Indian companies into the European Union market.
Ambassador Mohapatra identified seven priority sectors for Indian interest: supply chain management, pharmaceuticals, energy (with a focus on storage and battery technologies), diesel technology production, education, artificial intelligence and digitalization, and the defense industry. Local authorities are promoting Hunedoara as a strategic platform for production and services, leveraging its transport infrastructure and industrial tradition to facilitate economic transition and job creation.
