India's 2026 Car Launches: Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, Tata Tigor and More

Three new premium hatchbacks are slated for India in 2026. Hyundai will debut a new‑generation i20 built on the K3 platform, featuring Level‑2 ADAS, a 1.2‑litre petrol, a 1.0‑litre turbo‑petrol and a future strong‑hybrid powertrain, plus a 10.25‑inch curved dual‑display. Maruti is testing a Baleno facelift with a revised front grille, LED headlamps, a lighter 1.2‑litre three‑cylinder engine, updated alloy wheels and a modern infotainment system.

Several sedan updates are also expected. Tata plans a Tigor facelift and a Tigor EV facelift for late 2026, retaining the 1.2‑litre petrol while adding larger touchscreens, digital instrument clusters and EV‑specific styling; the EV will keep a 26 kWh battery with a 315 km range. Skoda will launch a Slavia facelift in early 2027, preserving its 1.0‑litre and 1.5‑litre TSI engines but adding new LED headlamps, bumpers and interior upgrades. Volkswagen’s Virtus will receive a similar facelift, with refreshed exterior styling, larger infotainment displays and continued use of 1.0‑litre and 1.5‑litre TSI engines. Launches are slated for late 2026 to early 2027 with price bands ranging from about ₹6.5 lakh to ₹19.5 lakh.
