India's CJP Demands Withdrawal of FIRs Against NEET Protesters

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has issued a demand that all FIRs filed against students and volunteers involved in the NEET‑UG 2026 question‑paper‑leak protests be withdrawn and that detained protesters be released. Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka warned that the organisation will resume protests if the central government fails to honour its promise, adding that the movement had previously secured a pledge from the centre that no new legal action would be taken against participants at Jantar Mantar or other sites.

Delhi police said no FIRs will be cancelled until they receive formal written instructions from the central authorities. Fifteen FIRs were lodged across Delhi districts after the July 20 demonstrations, and similar arrests have been reported in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar. In a meeting with CJP representatives, Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister Jitendra Singh assured that existing FIRs would be withdrawn and no new cases would be filed, promising a written confirmation by the following Tuesday.
