After ending a 37‑day sit‑in at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced that its movement was only beginning, vowing to travel nationwide, gather youth grievances and press for policy changes. The party secured several government concessions, including a ₹1 crore compensation package for families of students who died in connection with the NEET exam and the resignation of former education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi wrote to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an explanation for police use of pellet guns and baton charges during the July 20 march and said the issue would be raised in parliament.

The following day, CJP shifted focus to legal redress, demanding that all FIRs filed against NEET‑UG 2026 protest participants be withdrawn and that detained demonstrators be released. It warned it would resume protests if the central government failed to honour its promise. Delhi police replied that FIRs would not be cancelled without formal written instructions, while Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister Jitendra Singh pledged to withdraw existing FIRs and refrain from filing new cases, promising a written confirmation soon.
