India‑Greece trade talks led by Minister Piyush Goyal
Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with Greek Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos in Athens, confirming a shared intent to deepen economic cooperation. The discussions focused on expanding mutual investments, boosting bilateral trade, and advancing the India‑Middle‑East‑Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), which aims to position Greece as a gateway for Indian goods into the European market.
During the same visit, Goyal headed a high‑level Indian business delegation to Greece. The delegation participated in presentations and startup pitches at the Athens Startup Business Incubator (THEA) and held round‑table talks with industry leaders at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Topics covered included infrastructure, digitalisation, defence, food and agriculture, and the promotion of advanced manufacturing collaborations, all intended to create new avenues for private‑sector partnerships between the two countries.
