India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates major defence manufacturing plants in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra

India's defence minister Rajnath Singh, accompanied by Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, visited Puttaparthi on May 15 to lay the foundation stone for a defence manufacturing facility valued at ₹1 lakh crore. The project is slated to become a major aerospace hub in the region and is expected to generate large‑scale employment.

On May 23, Singh is set to inaugurate the Shirdi Defence Complex in Maharashtra, a Rs 1,000 crore installation that will produce artillery shells, drones and other defence systems, further expanding India's domestic defence production capacity.
