India Defence Minister Rajnath Singh vows to silence those who spread disturbance

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told a gathering in Agra that India is a peace‑loving nation but will "permanently silence those who spread disturbance" when security is threatened. The remarks were made while unveiling a statue of the 16th‑century ruler Maharana Pratap, whom Singh praised as a symbol of national pride and equality.

Singh criticised former Congress‑led governments for a softer stance on terrorism, highlighted India’s rapid economic growth and its role as a manufacturing hub – noting that iPhones are now made in the country – and pointed to progress against Naxal violence. He linked these achievements to the government’s policies such as Make in India, Ayushman Bharat and Swachh Bharat, and said the accolades received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 32 foreign nations reflect the nation’s rising global standing.
