India's DRDO completes trials of UAV‑launched ULPGM‑V3 precision missile

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) announced successful final development trials of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM‑V3). Tests were carried out at the National Open Area Range in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, demonstrating the missile’s capability in both air‑to‑ground mode – engaging armored tanks – and air‑to‑air mode against drones, helicopters and other airborne targets.

The missile, developed by DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat in collaboration with DRDL, TBRL and HEMRL, was integrated on UAVs built by Newspace Research and Technologies. Production partners include Bharat Dynamics Limited and Adani Defence Systems & Technologies, with a fully indigenous supply chain that incorporates numerous micro, small and medium enterprises. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the achievement as a strategic milestone for India’s self‑reliant defence posture.
