India's Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Faces Student Protest Over NEET Leak
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) led a sit‑in protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar beginning on June 21, 2026, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Founder Abhijeet Dipke accused the government of irregularities in the NEET‑UG 2026 entrance exam, citing a paper leak and a series of student suicides.
Protesters, mostly youth, stayed overnight despite police orders to vacate and temporary cuts to food, water, lighting and restroom facilities. They appealed for farmer solidarity and demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore for families of deceased students. On June 23, CJP launched a symbolic "diaper donation drive" at the site, urging participants to write their demand for Pradhan's resignation on diapers.
The demonstration continued into the night, with CJP officials urging more participants, including NEET re‑exam aspirants, to join the movement.
