India's Electoral Roll Revision Accelerates in Delhi and Punjab

The Election Commission of India reported that Delhi has digitised more than 30 lakh (3,049,330) enumeration forms as part of its Special Intensive Revision (SIR), covering about 21 % of the capital’s 14.5 million registered voters. The digitisation effort, which has been extended to August 8, aims to update voter records ahead of the draft roll slated for publication on August 13.

In Punjab, the Chief Electoral Officer announced a one‑day special SIR camp on July 19 at all polling booths. The camp is intended to assist voters in completing and submitting enumeration forms before the SIR phase ends on August 3, with the same draft roll deadline of August 13. Both initiatives seek to improve the accuracy and completeness of India’s electoral rolls ahead of upcoming elections.
