India's Foreign Minister Jaishankar heads to Manila for ASEAN and Quad meetings

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will travel to Manila, Philippines, on 22‑23 July 2026. He will attend a series of Foreign Minister‑level gatherings under the ASEAN framework, including the ASEAN‑India dialogue, the East Asia Summit (EAS) and the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).

On the sidelines of these meetings, Jaishankar will join a Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting with his counterparts from Australia, Japan and the United States, and will hold bilateral talks with participating ministers. The visit underscores India’s deepening engagement with ASEAN under its Act East Policy and coincides with 2026 being designated the ASEAN‑India Year of Maritime Cooperation.

The Philippines chairs ASEAN for 2026, with a theme of “Navigating Our Future Together,” and has highlighted India’s “very important role” in advancing ASEAN’s objectives. The trip is positioned as part of broader regional cooperation on peace, security, prosperity and people empowerment.
