India's Exports Reach Record $863 Billion in FY26 Fueled by FTAs
India’s total exports climbed to a record US$863.1 billion in the 2025‑26 financial year, with merchandise shipments of US$441.8 billion and services exports of US$421.3 billion. The surge was driven by expanded market access under a network of free‑trade agreements, notably with the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Australia, and ASEAN nations.
The ASEAN‑India pact delivered the largest merchandise share at US$38.42 billion, while the UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement generated US$37.36 billion in exports. New agreements such as the India‑New Zealand FTA are opening a US$2 billion textile market, and the India‑UK deal has already produced US$13.44 billion in trade.
Sectoral growth includes a rise in textile and apparel exports to Rs 3.25 lakh crore, and defence exports jumping to Rs 38,424 crore in FY26 with a target of Rs 50,000 crore by 2030. The government also recorded a gross foreign‑direct investment inflow of US$94.84 billion in FY26, underscoring the broader economic momentum.
