India's Mahindra and Tata report strong June 2026 vehicle sales
Mahindra & Mahindra announced domestic passenger‑vehicle sales of 60,393 units in June 2026, a 66 % increase over the same month a year earlier. The Scorpio range led with 14,097 units, accounting for about one‑quarter of Mahindra’s SUV sales, while the Thar/Thar Roxx combination sold 10,669 units. The XUV 3XO recorded a notable surge, delivering 10,063 units and a 50 % month‑on‑month rise, whereas the older XUV400 electric SUV sold only 31 units.
Tata Motors reported 62,076 passenger‑vehicle deliveries for June 2026, up 67.4 % YoY. The Tata Punch, including its EV version, was the top seller with 21,006 units (33.8 % of total sales) and posted a 101 % YoY gain. The Nexon family followed with 18,335 units, while the Tiago, Sierra, and Harrier models contributed 7,329, 6,392 and 2,962 units respectively. Several models, such as the Altroz and Curvv, saw declines in sales.
Both manufacturers highlighted the growing demand for SUVs and electric variants, underscoring a robust recovery in India’s automotive market during the second quarter of 2026.
