India's NEET UG 2026 counselling sees schedule uncertainty and Karnataka KCET round 2 entry
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) briefly posted a notice that the Round 1 choice‑filling for NEET UG 2026 counselling would be postponed from the originally scheduled August 6 to August 8. The notice cited a National Medical Commission (NMC) update on assessment guidelines for candidates with benchmark disabilities. The notice was later removed from the MCC website without explanation, leaving the counselling schedule unclear and prompting candidates to monitor official updates.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has opened Round 2 option entry for the KCET 2026 counselling. The second round includes UG NEET seats for MBBS, BDS and paramedical courses, and a seat matrix for these programmes has been released. Important dates are the option‑entry deadline on August 13 and the seat‑allotment result on August 19. This year there will be no mock seat‑allotment round, and candidates can modify their choices during the second round.
