India's NEET-UG re-test sees police aid and heightened security

In Kochi, Kerala, police intervened to help a NEET aspirant who lacked a passport‑size photograph. Officers contacted a local studio, secured fresh photos, and delivered them to the examination centre, allowing the student to complete verification and sit the exam.

Across Haryana, authorities arranged free bus transport for candidates and deployed extensive security measures for the re‑test. Police set up dual‑layer frisking, metal detectors, CCTV coverage, and prohibited electronic devices and valuables. Dedicated male and female frisking teams were positioned at a ratio of one per 100 candidates, with women comprising at least half the personnel. These steps aimed to ensure a fair and peaceful conduct of the examination.
