India's NTA postpones CUET-UG 2026 exam scheduled for May 28 due to Bakrid holiday

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed both shifts of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026 that were slated for 28 May 2026. The decision follows a Department of Personnel and Training memorandum issued on 22 May that revised the date of the Id‑ul‑Zuha (Bakrid) public holiday.

In a public notice the NTA wrote, “In continuation of the Public Notice dated 05 May 2026, it is hereby informed that the CUET (UG) 2026 examinations scheduled to be held on 28. 05. 2026 in both shifts stand postponed.” The agency said revised exam dates will be announced in due course and urged candidates to monitor the official CUET‑UG and NTA websites for updates.

CUET‑UG, introduced in 2022, standardises undergraduate admissions across central, state and selected private universities in India and aligns with the National Education Policy 2020. Hundreds of thousands of students preparing for undergraduate programmes are affected by the postponement.
