India's Parliamentary Committee to Review NTA Reforms and NEET‑UG Re‑examination
A standing parliamentary committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports will meet on 1 July in New Delhi. Chaired by Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Mukul Vasanik, the committee will examine lessons from the NEET‑UG 2026 re‑examination and discuss reforms for the National Testing Agency (NTA). Former ISRO chairman Dr K. Radhakrishnan, head of the NTA reform panel, will present a roadmap to strengthen the agency, while the Higher Education Secretary and the Director General of the Assessment and Training Agency will brief the committee on ongoing challenges.
The agenda also includes consideration of practical applications of indigenous artificial‑intelligence technologies in education. The meeting will run in two sessions, the first from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is the first parliamentary response to the recent NEET‑UG paper‑leak incident, following the end of Digvijay Singh’s chairmanship on 21 June.
