Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Launch Nationwide ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva’ Campaign on Aug 2, 2026
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the "Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan" on 2 August 2026. The initiative is a 100‑week nationwide Jan Bhagidari movement aimed at creating a drug‑free India. It will be launched as a simultaneous event at around 10,000 locations across the country, with more than one crore (10 million) young people expected to take a national pledge against substance abuse.
The campaign, announced by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, will mobilise MY Bharat volunteers, the National Service Scheme, youth clubs, schools, colleges, universities, NGOs, industrial associations and over 125 spiritual organisations. Every Sunday for the next 100 weeks activities such as walk‑athons, sports events, meditation sessions, cultural programmes, art competitions and street plays will be organised to engage youth and discourage drug use.
Volunteers and organisations that make outstanding contributions will be recognised at the 50th, 75th and 100th‑week milestones. The effort aligns with the government's vision of a "Nasha Mukt Bharat" and the broader goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
