India's Railway Group D Recruitment Exam Scheduled for August 2026

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued the official schedule for the Group D Level‑1 (CEN 09/2025) recruitment exam. The computer‑based test (CBT) will be conducted from 3 August to 21 August 2026 at centers across India, filling 22,195 vacancies that include track‑maintainer, points‑man, assistant‑signal, telecom and other posts.

The exam consists of a single 90‑minute CBT with 100 multiple‑choice questions: 25 each from General Science and Mathematics, 30 from General Intelligence & Reasoning and 20 from General Awareness & Current Affairs. Negative marking of one‑third mark per wrong answer applies. Minimum qualifying percentages are 40 % for General/EWS candidates and 30 % for OBC, SC and ST categories; final selection will be based on merit after subsequent Physical Efficiency Test, document verification, medical examination and other steps. Candidates must complete Aadhaar verification and will be able to download admit cards roughly four days before the test.

Advice for aspirants emphasizes understanding the exam pattern, focusing on high‑weight sections such as Reasoning, practicing speed and time management, avoiding guesswork due to negative marking, and undertaking regular mock tests and current‑affairs reading to improve performance.
