India's railway sector launches large‑scale apprentice and senior‑manager recruitment drives
The Railway Recruitment Cell of North Central Railway (NCR) issued a notification for 1,853 Act Apprentice positions for the 2026‑27 training year. Applicants aged 15‑24 with a minimum 10th‑grade qualification and an ITI certificate can apply online from 8 July to 7 August 2026, with a fee of ₹100 (exempt for certain categories).
Separately, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) announced recruitment for senior managerial posts—including Chief General Manager, General Manager, Joint General Manager (Architect), Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts) and Manager (Architect)—on a contract or deputation basis. The six vacancies must be filled through online applications submitted between 1 July and 20 July 2026. Both notifications are part of India’s broader effort to staff rail‑related operations and infrastructure projects.
