India's SEBI reports Rs 2,689 crore in unclaimed mutual‑fund dividends
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said unclaimed dividend balances held by mutual‑funds rose 15.7 % to Rs 2,689 crore for the fiscal year ending March 2026. Combined with unclaimed redemption proceeds, the total amount pending with mutual‑funds reached Rs 3,811 crore, while redemption proceeds themselves fell 0.5 % to Rs 1,122 crore.
SEBI highlighted recent investor‑protection steps, including integration of holdings with DigiLocker, a one‑time nominee death‑reporting mechanism through KYC Registration Agencies, and the "Niveshak Shivir" outreach programme aimed at raising awareness of unclaimed shares and dividends.
