India's sovereign AI push gains momentum as QSI and Sarvam AI expand
Quantum Synthetic Intelligence Pvt Ltd (QSI) announced the continued expansion of its Made‑in‑India sovereign AI platform, aimed at government agencies, enterprises and critical industries. The platform emphasizes privacy, edge computing and hybrid quantum‑classical processing, and is led by founder and managing director Dr. Mayur Ghule. QSI’s roadmap includes large‑language‑model research, CPU‑native inference and offline capabilities to reduce reliance on external AI services.
Sarvam AI, another domestic AI firm, presented its full‑stack sovereign AI suite, supporting speech‑to‑text, text‑to‑speech, translation, document digitisation and multilingual conversational AI across all Indian languages. The company has processed over 10 billion tokens, offers sub‑100 ms latency and 99.9 % uptime, and received ₹246.72 crore in funding under the IndiaAI Mission. Union Minister Amit Shah highlighted Sarvam AI as a showcase of India’s growing AI leadership. The firm has partnered with UIDAI for Aadhaar voice services, with the Odisha and Tamil Nadu governments for AI research hubs, and counts Tata Capital, SBI Life, Axis Bank and Infosys among its enterprise customers.
Together, the announcements illustrate India’s strategic drive to build domestic, secure AI infrastructure for public and private sectors.
