India's Tata Tiago and Hyundai i20 unveil major redesigns for 2026

Tata Motors has introduced a substantially updated 2026 Tiago hatchback for the Indian market. The facelift features a sharper exterior with a black grille, new LED headlamps, and a refreshed rear tail‑lamp design, while retaining the same silhouette. Inside, the cabin adopts a dual‑tone black‑grey theme, a floating 5‑inch digital instrument cluster and upgraded infotainment layout, along with revised seats and recycled interior components. Structural changes improve ground clearance to 170 mm, claimed to be the segment’s best, and ride comfort has been enhanced.

Hyundai Motor India has teased the fourth‑generation i20, set for a global debut in July 2026 and an Indian launch later that year. The preview shows a full‑width LED light bar, Y‑shaped DRLs and a more futuristic front fascia. Inside, a curved dual‑screen cockpit combines the infotainment system with a digital instrument cluster, and new safety features such as ADAS, parking sensors and a 360° camera are expected. Powertrains will likely remain petrol‑only, with a possible mild‑hybrid variant to meet stricter emissions standards. Pricing is anticipated to rise from the current ₹6‑11 lakh range, with deliveries projected for early 2027.
