India's telecom giants unveil pricey prepaid plans with AI and 5G perks

Reliance Jio introduced a Rs 450 prepaid offering that provides 2 GB of daily data, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and a 36‑day validity. The bundle also includes three months of free JioHotstar Mobile, 50 GB of JioAICloud storage and an 18‑month subscription to Google AI Pro valued at ₹35,100. After the fair‑usage limit is reached, speed is reduced to 64 kbps, and continued benefit of Google Gemini requires recharging on plans priced ₹349 or higher.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) rolled out several high‑cost prepaid options priced at Rs 4,099 and Rs 4,999 with a year‑long validity. Both plans offer unlimited voice, 100 SMS daily and high‑volume data (a 3,000 GB cap per 28‑day cycle) plus 5G access. The Rs 4,999 tier adds 2 GB of daily data, Vi Movies & TV, Amazon Prime Lite and access to multiple OTT services. These plans target heavy data users willing to pay premium monthly rates.
