Overview

Indian operators continue expanding both premium and budget prepaid offerings while deepening bundled broadband services. In mid‑July, Reliance Jio added low‑cost 4G‑only prepaid options, including an Rs 889 plan (1.5 GB daily data, unlimited calls, 100 SMS for 84 days) and an Rs 666 plan (same data for 70 days), each bundled with free Google AI Pro and JioSaavn. The same week, Jio introduced a Rs 450 prepaid plan (2 GB daily data, unlimited voice, 100 SMS, 36‑day validity) with three months of JioHotstar Mobile, 50 GB JioAI Cloud storage and an 18‑month Google AI Pro subscription. Vodafone Idea (Vi) launched high‑price prepaid packs at Rs 4,099 and Rs 4,999, offering year‑long validity, unlimited voice, 100 SMS daily, large data caps (up to 3 TB per 28‑day cycle), 5G access and OTT bundles such as Vi Movies & TV and Amazon Prime Lite. On July 24, Jio unveiled a 15‑month Freedom broadband package for Rs 10,000, delivering 100 Mbps symmetric speeds, free voice calling, over 1,000 live TV channels and subscriptions to twelve OTT platforms, plus a free set‑top box. A concurrent Rs 999 prepaid plan (98 days, 2 GB daily, unlimited 5G, Google AI Pro, free JioHotstar Mobile) reinforced Jio’s combined broadband‑prepaid strategy. Early August saw Vi introduce three prepaid tiers (Rs 230‑435) that include a 28‑day Spotify Premium subscription and a Rs 696 bundle pairing unlimited voice, 2 GB daily data, Amazon Prime Lite, night‑time unlimited 5G and weekend data rollover. Jio also refreshed its JioHome 3‑in‑1 bundles: 30 Mbps or 100 Mbps broadband at Rs 555/707 per month, plus TV‑only (Rs 400) and Wi‑Fi‑only (Rs 440‑600) options, all with free installation and no requirement for an existing Jio mobile line.
